Alexandria Terminal

Gulf Coast Petroleum Logistics

How Louisiana and Texas fit together in petroleum logistics, and where an inland terminal like Alexandria fits.

The region

The US Gulf Coast, from Texas through Louisiana, holds a large share of the country's refining capacity and export terminals. Product moves by pipeline, barge, vessel, rail and truck between refineries, storage and customers.

Inland and coastal storage

Coastal terminals around Houston serve export and import cargoes. Inland terminals serve regional distribution, putting product closer to the trucks and customers that use it. Alexandria, on the Red River in Central Louisiana, is an inland terminal.

Linking the two

Customers can hold product at Alexandria for regional supply and use storage in Houston for export positioning. Our team coordinates movements between the two, with rail arranged through rail carriers when needed.
