Who we are
Alexandria Terminal Company LLC owns and operates the terminal at 501 River Port Road, Alexandria, Louisiana 71301, inside the Central Louisiana Regional Port on the Red River. It is our principal terminal and head office, and the only terminal we own. Our own crews run it around the clock.
Storage at Alexandria
The terminal stores petroleum and liquid bulk products in floating-roof, fixed-roof and heated tanks. Which tank a product goes into depends on its vapor characteristics, viscosity and specification. Lighter products with more vapor go to floating-roof tanks with double seals; heavy fuel oil goes to heated tanks so it stays pumpable. Tank allocation is confirmed per enquiry.
Receipt, discharge and transfers
We receive and discharge product with measurement, sampling and documentation at each custody transfer. Tank-to-tank transfers are available for consolidation or blending where products are compatible.
Getting product in and out
Alexandria connects to river, pipeline and road. Trucks load at the terminal for regional distribution across Louisiana and the wider Gulf Coast. Rail movements are arranged through rail carriers rather than a direct terminal connection. For export or overseas storage, our team coordinates onward movements with our leased storage in Houston and other ports.
Environmental controls
Vapor recovery units and double-sealed floating roofs reduce emissions from stored product. Compatibility checks before any commingling protect both product quality and the tanks.
